Emmi AI, an Austrian startup, is reshaping the world of industrial simulations with its groundbreaking AI-powered technology. The company has raised a €15 million seed round, marking the largest-ever seed investment for an Austrian startup. The funding round was led by 3VC, Speedinvest, Serena, and PUSH, signaling strong investor confidence in Europe’s deep tech sector.

With this significant capital boost, Emmi AI plans to expand its team, particularly hiring top-tier researchers and engineers across Europe. The company will also accelerate product development and scale its commercial deployments. Early engagement with customers, with contracts in the seven-digit Annual Contract Value (ACV) range, shows strong market interest.

Tackling the Simulation Bottleneck in Industrial Design

Industries like aerospace, automotive, energy, and semiconductors rely heavily on simulations for product design, testing, and optimization. Traditionally, these simulations take months to complete, requiring complex processes and immense computing power. Emmi AI aims to change this by introducing AI-driven digital twins that enable real-time, high-fidelity simulations in milliseconds.

By moving beyond traditional simulation models, Emmi AI offers a breakthrough approach. The company’s technology allows engineers to conduct simulations of complex systems, including fluid dynamics, multiphysics, and solid-state mechanics, all without manual preprocessing. The platform can handle simulations involving hundreds of millions of mesh cells, an achievement previously impossible in computational engineering.

Founders with a Vision

Emmi AI was Founded in 2024 by Johannes Brandstetter, Dennis Just, and Miks Mikelsons. Emmi AI brings together a team with deep technical expertise and entrepreneurial ambition. Their innovative approach to engineering problems has attracted significant attention, culminating in this record-breaking seed round. The company’s name, inspired by the legendary mathematician Emmy Noether, reflects its mission to apply clarity, speed, and intelligence to complex engineering challenges.

What sets Emmi AI apart is its shift from traditional numeric-based models to AI-powered simulation engines. This transition offers not just speed but also unmatched scalability and precision, placing the startup at the forefront of the emerging Physics AI field, where artificial intelligence meets the laws of physics.

Looking ahead, Emmi AI plans to make a global impact, continuing to attract top talent and expand its customer base in high-stakes industries. As deep tech gains momentum in Europe, the startup’s significant funding signals strong market confidence in its ability to drive innovation and efficiency in industrial engineering.

“We set out to solve real engineering bottlenecks—challenges that hinder innovation in critical industries,” said Dennis Just. “This funding allows us to accelerate our growth, expand our team, and deliver a scalable platform that meets the demands of modern industry.”

A Vote of Confidence from Investors

Investors are enthusiastic about Emmi AI’s potential. Peter Lasinger, General Partner at 3VC, highlighted the company’s ability to tackle previously insurmountable engineering challenges, calling their work “GPT Moments” for industrial simulations.

Andreas Schwarzenbrunner, General Partner at Speedinvest, praised the team’s research, describing it as the next frontier in AI with the power to reshape industrial engineering. “Emmi AI will increase efficiency across industries, while positioning Austria as a deep tech hub,” he said.

Guillaume Decugis, Partner at Serena, emphasized the profound impact Emmi AI could have on industrial design and operations. “What they’re doing for the physical world is as transformative as AI’s impact on language,” he remarked.

Christopher Raithle, Investment Manager at PUSH VC, noted that Emmi AI is addressing the toughest technical challenges in industrial engineering. “What they’ve built is a game-changer,” he said, “drastically reducing iteration time and improving efficiency.”
