Anthropic has rolled out powerful updates to its AI assistant Claude. The highlight is Claude integrations, a feature that connects Claude directly to your favorite workplace tools. Alongside this, the new Advanced Research mode takes Claude’s analysis capabilities to a whole new level.

These upgrades are now live in beta for users on Claude’s Max, Team, and Enterprise plans. Pro users will get access soon. With these features, Claude shifts from being just a smart chatbot to a deeply embedded productivity partner.

Claude Integrations: Direct Access to Your Work Tools

Anthropic has made it possible for Claude to work directly with your most-used apps. This new Claude integrations feature builds on the company’s Model Context Protocol (MCP), launched last year. Previously, setting up app connections required some technical effort. Now, anyone—especially developers—can connect Claude to web or desktop apps in about 30 minutes using secure APIs.

At launch, Claude integrations work with a strong lineup of tools, including:

  • Atlassian Jira and Confluence – for project and documentation management
  • Zapier – to access thousands of apps through automation workflows
  • Intercom – for customer conversations and feedback
  • Asana, Square, Sentry, PayPal, Linear, Plaid – with Stripe and GitLab joining soon

The real power here is context. When Claude has access to your team’s history, documents, and tasks, it stops making assumptions and starts offering relevant, accurate support. Anthropic says: “Claude becomes a more informed collaborator, helping you execute complex projects in one place with expert assistance at every step.”

Let’s look at what this can do. Imagine Claude connected to Zapier. You could ask it to pull data from HubSpot, review your calendar, and summarize meetings—without switching apps. Claude handles the commands conversationally.

With Jira and Confluence, Claude can draft product specs, summarize lengthy documents, and even create Jira tickets in bulk. It might also identify project risks by analyzing progress and patterns in your workflows.

If you’re using Intercom, the integration becomes even more dynamic. Claude can read chat histories, highlight common customer issues, and even create bug reports in tools like Linear. With Intercom’s AI assistant “Fin” now talking to Claude, teams can automate more tasks and close feedback loops faster.

Advanced Research: Deeper AI Analysis, Backed by Sources

Anthropic also introduced an improved Advanced Research mode for Claude. This feature is designed for users who need detailed, reliable insights—fast.

In standard mode, Claude could already pull information from the web or Google Workspace. But with Advanced Research enabled, it breaks your query into smaller parts, explores each one deeply, and then delivers a unified, detailed answer.

Claude now pulls data not just from public web sources, but also from your connected apps. It can reference Jira tickets, Confluence pages, or internal docs and link directly to the source material in its response. That transparency helps users trust the results and verify details as needed.

Reports generated in Advanced mode take longer. Basic ones may take 5–15 minutes. More complex research could take up to 45 minutes. But for users used to spending hours doing manual research, the time savings are significant.

This feature transforms Claude from a quick search assistant into a real investigative partner. You can now use Claude for in-depth planning, audits, customer analysis, or competitive research—all with citations and full traceability.

What This Means for Teams and Developers

Developers can build new integrations quickly using Anthropic’s tools or through partners like Cloudflare, which handle security and backend setup. That makes it easy to connect Claude to your company’s custom software, niche tools, or private databases.

These capabilities let Claude function more like a digital team member. It understands your projects, sees your context, and acts with purpose.

Also, for the first time, Claude’s web search feature is now available globally for all paid users, removing past location restrictions. Whether you’re on the Pro, Max, Team, or Enterprise plan, Claude can now search the web no matter where you’re located.

These updates mark a major step forward in making Claude more than just an AI chatbot. By directly integrating with popular tools and offering deeper research capabilities, Claude integrations turn the assistant into a smart, hands-on collaborator.

Anthropic is clearly aiming to make Claude an everyday productivity essential—something that not only understands your work but helps you do it better and faster.
