Threat intelligence company Prodaft has launched a new initiative aimed at gaining deeper insights into cybercriminal activity. The company is now offering to buy accounts from users of major dark web cybercrime forums—with no questions asked and full anonymity guaranteed for the sellers.
The initiative, called SYS, targets accounts from five well-known forums: XSS, Exploit in, RAMP4U, Verified, and BreachForums. While pricing details are confidential, Prodaft says it will pay a premium for accounts with moderator or administrator access.
“No judgment, no questions — just a secure, simple transaction,” Prodaft stated in its launch announcement. “This is a chance for those involved in cybercrime to walk away from that life.”
How It Works:
Cybercriminals interested in selling their accounts can:
- Reach out via ToX chat or email tips[at]prodaft.com to signal interest.
- Submit the account for review and valuation by Prodaft.
- If approved, Prodaft makes an offer and shares payment options.
- Once accepted, payment is processed securely.
Accounts are then turned over to law enforcement for intelligence sharing, but seller identities remain confidential.
Requirements for Selling an Account according to Prodaft:
- The account must have been registered before December 2022.
- It must not be listed on any FBI or law enforcement Most Wanted list.
- Payment will be made in Bitcoin, Monero, or another cryptocurrency.
This move is part of Prodaft’s strategy to improve its threat intelligence capabilities by gaining behind-the-scenes access to underground communities. While the ethical implications will spark debate, the company believes this approach can help expose cybercrime networks more effectively.
